As an assistant operations manager, you will work with information technology services, audio-visual services, and facility management to oversee the daily operations of Adler Hall, Hamilton Hall, Montgomery Hall, and SCAD Film Studios in Savannah. This includes opening and closing the buildings, as well as checkout counters. You will ensure that all buildings are maintained in good condition and adequately staffed, that equipment is inspected correctly after check-in, and that students receive the correct items. Additionally, you will input faculty equipment and special requests into the web checkout system (WCS), generate necessary reports, maintain the database, and import assets into the WCS while correctly formatting descriptions and schedules. Other responsibilities related to the WCS include equipment inventory and the input and preparation of newly purchased equipment for entry.

In this role, you will sign off on overnight equipment approvals for students. You will coordinate the transport and return of equipment to and from engineering for repairs, ensure that trouble reports are evaluated and forwarded to the appropriate individuals, and arrange for barcodes to be applied to all equipment in circulation. Responsibilities include equipment inspections, evaluations, and repair determinations, as well as neat storage and studio space inspections to ensure they are ready for use. You will conduct quarterly equipment inventories, print and review daily kits, and monitor student film sets on location to ensure adherence to safety procedures and proper setup of specialized film equipment. Additional responsibilities include research and recommendations for studio equipment and the maintenance of technical logs.

Minimum qualifications:  

  • At least two years of experience working in a film or video production company or in an equipment rental facility

Preferred qualifications: 

  • Bachelor's degree or three years of college and one year of related professional experience

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

  • Valid driver’s license 

Travel required:

  • Less than 10%

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
