Assistant Director of Admission
Job no: 502054
Position type: 12 Month Salaried Staff FT
Location: Off-site
Division/Equivalent: Chief Marketing Officer
School/Unit: Admission Recruitment
Categories: Admission Recruitment
Assistant directors of admission (ADAs) travel the world to build meaningful relationships with remarkable students, families, educators, and counselors — and show them how SCAD is the ultimate destination to launch the future and career of their dreams.
As an ADA, you'll represent the No. 1 university in the Americas and Europe to prospective students from strategically identified public, private, and boarding schools. You'll deliver engaging presentations in high school classrooms and at information sessions, college fairs, conferences, and other recruitment events where you'll also field questions about SCAD offerings. During one-on-ones with prospective students and their families, you'll get to know them, and their interests and aspirations, to determine right fit and to help them map out the beginning of their SCAD journey, from the application process to on-ground visitation.
Excellent communication and strong sales skills are a must, and you'll use those skills to develop and nurture relationships during your travels. Understanding FERPA regulations is key. Through proactive outreach, you'll connect with prospective students in your assigned area via phone calls, virtual meetings, email communications, and more, persuasively encouraging them to visit SCAD and begin the application process. And you'll record what you learn in Salesforce and other record management software/processes to keep their momentum strong. Communication extends to the educators guiding these students, too. You'll invite educators to attend SCAD Educator Weekend, where you'll serve as a host and represent the university with positivity, confidence, and charisma.
As an ADA, you'll be part of an extraordinary team of SCADvocates, which means you'll tag in on other recruitment efforts, award ceremonies for scholarship winners, tours, staff programs, and trainings. You'll help maintain the recruitment master calendar through prompt, detailed, and accurate input of data, and you'll flag successes and challenges of recruitment initiatives to spark strategic innovation for future planning. You'll also leverage alumni and parent ambassadors to shine a light on the lifelong perks of being a SCAD Bee.
Among other activities, you'll also serve as a vital contact for prospective students as they advance in their journey to SCAD by helping admitted and deposit-paid students take their next steps.
As a successful candidate, you're someone who thrives on helping others — and who understands the power of strategic communication and strong partnerships. You stay in-the-know, always up to date on what's happening at SCAD, and you enjoy connecting with people from all backgrounds. You're detail-oriented and can pinpoint prospective students' needs with precision and positivity. You're skilled at working independently to meet daily and weekly goals by setting clear expectations for yourself, managing your time well, and exceeding your own high standards. You're also adept at delivering engaging presentations with confidence and comfortable giving leadership regular feedback on recruitment initiatives.
