As a SCAD University Safety field operations manager, you will report to the director of university safety and manage a team of six to 10 trained safety officers with select static posts and patrol capabilities. You will identify and implement best security practices and provide innovative, comprehensive safety and security services to the SCAD community. Among other duties, you will refine internal program standards to promote job knowledge, provide safe environments, and enhance SCAD’s vision. You will also use your influence to drive active engagement of all internal and external stakeholders.
In this role, you will confer with university management-level personnel and law enforcement officials to establish policies that directly or indirectly affect university operations. You will also continually engage with law enforcement to exchange information, assist agencies during criminal investigations, and support real-time assessment approaches to ensure appropriate staffing and resource deployment. Additionally, you will develop, maintain, and implement crime-prevention programs and assist with planning and completing special events.
The ideal candidate is well-versed in developing and implementing patrol and staffing programs that emphasize training and build in-depth job knowledge and skills, customer service, and safety best practices.
The candidate maintains a level of physical fitness that enables them to stand or walk indoors or outdoors during a shift, respond quickly to service calls, and climb or descend multiple flights of stairs. They are capable of performing CPR, assisting with lifting or carrying people, and moving items weighing up to 50 lbs.
Please Note, this position is a full-time role with 12 hour shifts.
We are currently only hiring for Night Shift: 6pm-6am
Minimum qualifications:
- At least four years of security, military, or law enforcement experience
- University-specific experience with the relevant compliance requirements of the Jeanne Clery Campus Safety Act, the Violence Against Women Act (VAWA), and Title IX
Preferred qualifications:
- Certification in the process of conducting threat assessments
- Certification in the process of conducting special event assessments
- Valid driver’s license
- Must possess or be able to obtain a U.S. passport within the first six months of employment
Travel required:
- 10–20%
Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
