As an HVAC technician within the SCAD physical resources team, you’ll work to ensure that the HVAC systems in the university's many buildings throughout the city are in excellent condition and ready for students, staff, faculty, and guests. 

To support the physical resources team, you’ll:

• Plan and order replacement filters, change filters in HVAC systems, and remove old filters from the area
• Document problems that need to be fixed in the work order system, complete work order requests, and meet schedules and timelines that support the university's overall needs
• Advise the supervisor when emergencies occur or assistance is needed, handle emergencies as needed, and adhere to all SCAD and OSHA regulations and safe practices
• Always maintain a professional appearance

Candidates should ideally demonstrate:

• A basic knowledge of electrical components and their functions
• An ability to understand the principles of air distribution and the refrigeration cycle, and to correct problems

Minimum qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED
• Technical school degree in an appropriate field
• At least four years of construction or maintenance electrical experience
• Ability to be insured by the university to drive a car
• Ability to pass the DOT medical exam 

Certificates, licenses, and registrations:

• Valid driver's license
• Valid refrigerant card

Travel required:   

• More than 50% 

Work hours: The university work week is Sunday through Saturday. Most offices are open Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. To accommodate business needs, employees may be assigned to other workdays and/or hours, including weekends and evenings.
