Position Title: Chemistry Lab Stockroom Assistant I

Position Summary: Provides support to the lab manager for the Department of Chemistry's lab classes.

Essential Functions:
Assists the lab manager in the preparation of materials and supplies for chemistry lab classes.
Uses good laboratory practices necessary to function safely in a laboratory.
Demonstrates dependability and reliability.
Follows departmental SOPs in the completion of job duties.
Completes general cleaning and housekeeping tasks as well as proper glassware washing.
Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:
Concurrently enrolled in General Chemistry I and the associated lab course
Must be detail oriented and be able to follow instructions

Preferred Qualifications:
Grade of B or better in Chemistry courses and a minimum of GPA of 3.0 or better in natural sciences courses.
Ability to lift 50 lbs.

Special Instructions to Applicants:
Must have a recommendation from a Natural Science Division (NSD) faculty member in order to be considered for this position.
