Position Summary: The Military Transitions Peer student employment opportunity serves as a critical team member of the Military Success Center. They assist with gathering student veteran information, support student veteran events, meet with students for quick walk-in consultations which will include VITAL resources, campus resources, and scheduling a meeting with appropriate departments, etc. This position will also provide office support for professional staff in the Military Success Center. Flexible scheduling is available Monday through Friday between 8am - 5pm.

Essential Functions:
-Answer incoming calls and greet visitors to the Military Success Center.
-Assist military affiliated students with student success strategies.
-Provide an initial overview of resources available for students.
-Assist in developing and facilitation of Military Success Center web-presence.
-Deliver excellent customer service to encourage further use of the Military Success Center.
-Willing to participate in campus events to facilitate comradery for military affiliated students.
-Performs additional job-related duties as assigned.

Non-Essential Functions:
-Time commitment of 10-12 hours per week during fall/spring terms.
-Desire to make this a productive personal, career development and employment experience.

Required Qualifications:
-Must maintain a cumulative collegiate GPA of at least 2.5.
-Must be enrolled full-time at Washburn University and in good academic standing.
-Evidence of strong communication skills, both written and spoken.
-Possess significant attention to detail.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Willingness to deliver exceptional customer service.

Preferred Qualifications:
Preference for students that have experience with military service.
