Position Summary: The student will possess knowledge of the Aleshire Center Leadership and Community Engagement programs including curricular and co-curricular activities. The student will oversee and help carry out co-curricular programs. The candidate will have already been chosen by the staff of the Aleshire Center as Fellow.
Essential Functions:
-Helps coordinate and oversee student involvement in the co-curricular programs of the Aleshire Center.
-Maintains constant knowledge of the Aleshire Center, creating support among all students involved in the Aleshire Center.
-Recruit students, both incoming and current, to become involved in the Aleshire Center.
-Displays a commitment to the creation of new programs and events to engage a diverse group of students.
-Arranges leadership training and facilitates learning experiences for the students, campus, and greater community as appropriate.
-Acts as a role model for current and prospective students and be a positive representation of Washburn University and the Aleshire Center for Leadership & Community Engagement.
-Complete tasks as needed for specific role as Fellow.
-Work in the Aleshire Center student office as required.
Non-Essential Functions:
-Provide support to the Aleshire Center students.
-Show flexibility if other tasks are required by the Aleshire Center staff.
-Performs additional job-related or non-related duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:
-Must be a selected Fellow of the Aleshire Center for the current academic year.
-Ability to demonstrate professionalism and initiative.
-Effective communication skills – grammar, spelling, punctuation, and proofreading for corrections as well as proper and timely replies as needed.
-Knowledgeable of the Aleshire Center for Leadership and Community Engagement.
Preferred Qualifications:
-Working knowledge of prominent computer programs (Word, Canva, etc.)
-Be able to use social media platforms effectively (Facebook, Instagram, etc.)
