Position Summary: The Mass Media Film & Video Equipment Student Manager will work directly with the Chair of the Department of Mass Media and the film and video equipment faculty supervisor to assist in managing film and video equipment and the checkout/check-in process. The student is expected to contribute 4 - 6 hours per week. This position requires solid knowledge of film/video equipment.
Essential Functions:
Strong communication skills are needed to facilitate the ongoing checkout process with mass media students.
Ability to follow the established film/video checkout guidelines for use of inventoried equipment.
Ability to work with the chair and the faculty supervisor to maintain the film and video equipment checkout room.
Ability to troubleshoot any film equipment issues on the spot.
Ability to check all film equipment for proper checkout and check-in, examining to ensure all pieces and parts are retrieved and returned. Any issues with equipment should promptly reported to faculty supervisors.
Ability to use the appointment booking software and the university equipment checkout program is essential to schedule times to retrieve equipment. Training will be provided.
Required Qualifications:
Must have taken at least one film class.
Must have film and video equipment experience.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift and maneuver film equipment including tripods, light kits, sound kits, etc.
