Position Summary:

The Spanish Interpreter/Translator will provide translation and interpretation work with clients and potential clients at the Law Clinic office as needed.

Essential Functions:
-Primary translator of Spanish documents into English, including correspondence, forms, and personal statements.
-Interpret between Law Clinic staff/students and clients.
-Translating English documents into Spanish.

Non-Essential Functions:
Filing, typing, and answering the phone.

Required Qualifications:

-Fluency in Spanish (both written and oral).
-Professionalism.
-Ability to maintain confidentiality.
-Excellent grammar, written and verbal communication, and a willingness to learn legal terminology.

-Must be a Washburn student and currently enrolled.
-If a student at Washburn University Law School, must be enrolled as a 2L, 3L, or LLM.

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience and coursework on Spanish interpretation and/or translation in a professional setting.
