Position Title: Adjunct Music/Applied String Bass

Position Summary: Washburn University's Music Department is inviting applications for Adjunct Music/Applied String Bass.

Essential Functions:
• Teach assigned courses which may include, but are not limited to: Applied String Bass, Applied Jazz Lessons, Performance Class, or courses within the candidate’s expertise
• Perform in the Faculty Jazz Quartet
• Recruit students and maintain a public profile as a performer and teacher
• Assist with the Washburn University Coleman Hawkins Summer Jazz Camp and Jazz Festival

Required Qualifications:
• Master's degree or higher in Music.
• Professional performance experience in both Classical and Jazz.
• Classroom teaching experience.
• The selected candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to pursuing teaching excellence at Washburn University, including a dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage students from all backgrounds.
• Official transcripts are required during the offer process.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Doctorate
• University teaching experience
• Experience recruiting students at the university level
