Position Title: Lecturer, Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Radiologic Technology

Position Summary: Washburn University’s Allied Health Department invites applications for the position of Diagnostic Medical Sonography/Radiologic Technology Lecturer with a start date of August 1, 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter. This position is a 12-month full-time, non-tenure track faculty appointment.

Essential Functions:
• Teach 12 credit hours per semester or a full workload as defined by the faculty handbook
• Teach and develop Allied Health Department courses in assigned modalities (e.g., face-to-face, online, hybrid, Zoom, etc.)
• Advise students, maintain office hours in accordance with the School of Applied Studies (SAS) and university policy, attend meetings, and engage in service activities in the Allied Health Department, the School of Applied Studies, the University, the profession, and the community
• Support Program Directors to assure effective program operations
• Must hold and maintain a valid American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) and a current Kansas Radiologic Technologist license
• Must hold and maintain valid sonography credentials for at least one of the following: RDCS, RCS, ACS, RDMS (AB)(OBGYN), RVT, or RVS
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• A bachelor's degree from an academic institution accredited by an institutional accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education (USDE)
• Minimum of two years of total clinical experience as a Registered Radiologic Technologist and/or registered diagnostic sonographer in at least one of the following: RDCS, RCS, ACS, RDMS (AB)(OBGYN), RVT, or RVS

Preferred Qualifications:
• A master’s degree in a healthcare or closely related field
• College/Post-secondary teaching experience
• Credentialed as a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer with more than one specialty (Abdomen/Obstetrics & Gynecology), Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, and/or Registered Cardiac Sonographer
• Experience in curriculum development, instruction, evaluation, and academic advising
• Experience in program planning and assessment
• Effective organizational and interpersonal skills
• Experience in administration within the healthcare system
