Position Summary: This role is responsible to work alongside the Assistant Dean of Health Occupations and provide oversight of the Health Occupations Division Nursing Programs at Washburn University Institute of Technology. This will include supervision of nursing instructors, students, curriculum, outcomes, and processes including regulatory and accrediting body standards.

Essential Functions:
• Assist in the planning, development, evaluation, and continuous improvement of nursing programs.
• Assist in obtaining and maintaining accreditation and KSBN regulatory approval for current and new nursing programs.
• Work collaboratively with the assistant dean and faculty to review and revise nursing program outcomes, program evaluation plan, instruction, and clinical learning experiences.
• Support faculty in their pursuit of high-quality, creative, and evidence-based nursing instruction.
• Assist in sustaining and expanding community partnerships that support and enhance the nursing program.
• Coordinate clinical schedules for nursing programs in collaboration with clinical instructors and clinical affiliate partners.
• Organize onboarding and orientation for new clinical faculty and lab instructors.
• Coordinate student clearance for clinical rotations with clinical instructors and clinical partners.
• Facilitate and maintain collaborative relationships with current and prospective clinical affiliate partners and coordinate needed clinical contracts with all clinical facilities.
• Support the assistant dean to ensure effective program operations.
• Participate in the development, organization, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum.
• Participate in developing standards for student admission, progression, and program completion.
• Maintain a positive learning environment.
• Maintain student records pertaining to the program.
• Evaluate each course taught and performance in teaching.
• Assist in the recruitment, selection, retention, evaluation, advising, and counseling of program students.
• Submit recommendations related to budget and purchases.
• Actively participate in professional organizations and advisory committees with advisory members and clinical partners.
• Attend healthcare and education seminars, conferences, and workshops.
• Develop and maintain working relationships and constructive interaction with faculty and personnel of the school, cooperating agencies, and community groups.
• Serve as a member of councils as assigned.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate for the proper operation of assigned courses and clinical rotations.

Required Qualifications:
• Master of Science in Nursing
• Minimum of five years nursing experience
• Three years’ combined experience in nursing leadership, nursing education, accreditation, curriculum development, and assessment
• A proven self-directed individual with effective leadership, organizational, time-management, and communication skills
• Current Kansas licensure as a registered nurse is in good standing with no pending disciplinary action. Licensure/certification must be maintained throughout employment.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in establishing nursing programs and accreditation
