Position Title: Technical Instructor (Certified Logistics Technology)

Position Summary: Washburn Institute of Technology seeks applications for a Technical Instructor, Certified Logistics Technology to begin on January 1, 2025. This is a 12-month, full-time, benefit-eligible position.

Essential Functions:
• Develop a curriculum according to course competencies on each course syllabus.
• Prepare for and attend all class meetings.
• Develop assignments for the classroom.
• Enforce policies for safety and use of personal protective equipment for all individuals in the lab environment.
• Maintain student records for the program (i.e. Certification testing and the assessment plan).
• Evaluate student work, provide feedback to students, administer tests, and assign grades.
• Share (as appropriate) student information with the proper staff and departments.
• Use the university’s learning management system to track grades as required.
• Actively participate in departmental/program advisory board meetings.
• Foster a positive relationship with industry representatives and the community.
• Act in a manner that promotes collegial relationships and shows respect for students, staff, and colleagues.
• Maintain and advance training in industry-recognized certifications.
• Stay abreast of innovations and developments in the professional field.
• Adhere to university policies.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.

Required Qualifications:
• Two years of verifiable full-time experience in logistics or a post-secondary degree in Logistics Technology.
• Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage students from all backgrounds.
• MSSC CLA and CLT credentials or must obtain within eight weeks of hire.
• Official transcripts are required at time of hire.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics Technology.
• Teaching experience at the post-secondary level.

Full time Exempt Mon-Fri 7:30am-4:00pm
