Position Summary: Washburn University's Department of Biology invites applications for a 9-month, lecturer position in Biology. The appointment, beginning in Fall 2025, is subject to budgetary approval.

Essential Functions:
• Fulfill teaching expectations associated with a non-tenure track/lecturer appointment. Teach 12-hours per semester (either in-person or online, according to departmental needs) or equivalent full workload as outlined in the faculty handbook.
• Teach and develop undergraduate classes as assigned and as dependent upon department needs, which will include introductory human biology lecture and lab and may include introductory microbiology lecture and lab courses in addition to other courses consistent with the candidate’s training and interests.
• Fulfill service expectations associated with appointment as a lecturer by engaging in service activities in the department, university, and profession.
• Perform additional job-related duties as assigned or as appropriate.
Required Qualifications:
• Master’s degree in Biology.
• Demonstrated dedication to developing inclusive teaching practices that engage all learners.
• Official educational transcripts due at the time of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience teaching introductory human biology lecture and lab courses.
• Experience or training to teach introductory microbiology courses.
