General Summary The Department of Physics and Astronomy invites qualified applicants to apply for part-time, in-person, teaching for introductory laboratory sections in physics. |
Principal Duties and Responsibilities Teaching may include a number of particular obligations which employees are expected to fulfill, including but not limited to: prepare and instruct assigned laboratory section(s) to meet overall course objectives and program goals; establish and maintain an environment conducive to student learning; meeting with students during and outside of assigned classes, assessing (grading) student work and performance, preparing course materials, providing copies of course materials, and collect and provide program assessment data to their supervisor on request, coordinate efforts with other instructors, and assigning and submitting grades in accordance with established Eastern Michigan University policies and procedures. |
Minimum Qualifications: A minimum of a Bachelor’s degree completed in physics or a closely related science field, and a preference given to those with a Master’s degree in physics, or who have nearly completed a Master’s degree in physics or a closely related science field. |
Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience is preferred, but not required.
