Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Train, supervise and support student employees.

  • Provide excellent customer service to prospective students via email, phone and in person at the International Admissions front desk.

  • Manage and evaluate the workflow to improve operational efficiency.

  • Manage the daily admit list and update the I-20 tracking reports.

  • Examine documents using forensically to detect any fraudulent activity.

  • Interpret international grading scales using appropriate resources.

  • Evaluate financial documents to Student and Exchange Visitor Program (SEVP) standards.

  • Schedule and assist with monthly student staff meetings.

  • Assist professional staff with various projects, procedures and reports related to international admissions. 

  • Share information with prospective international students about admissions policies, procedures, cost of attendance and other matters related to enrollment.

  • Adhere to all EMU, NCAA and SEVP policies, rules, regulations and operational procedures.

  • Maintain appropriate confidentiality in all forms of communication.

  • Other departmental related duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications: 

    • The ability to work up to 20 hours per week is required (hybrid availability).

    • A GPA of 3.0 or higher is required. 

    • Admission and enrollment in a graduate program is required. 

    • Maintenance of a  67% course completion is required. 

    • Enrollment in at least 6 credits for Fall and Winter semesters is required. 

Preferred Qualifications: 

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing is required.

  • Proficient computer skills are desirable.

  • Familiarity with the international admissions and enrollment process is desirable.

  • Knowledge of basic immigration regulations.

  • This position will require a combination of in-person and virtual work shifts.

Supervision Received: 

Supervision is received from one or more professional staff members within the Admissions Office-International Admissions unit.
