About the role
The Assistant in Midwifery will work within the maternity unit to provide safe and effective woman- centred care as directed by a registered midwife
Key Responsibilities
- Assistance with activities of daily living for the woman and baby, including:
- Escorting low risk patients;
- Assisting with any manual handling activities;
- Documentation (countersigned by a registered midwife);
- Assist midwifery staff with routine technical support functions, including:
- Sourcing equipment and supplies for routine procedures;
- Restocking and cleaning equipment.
- Visual observations during intentional patient rounding (not including vital signs).
What you bring
- Currently enrolled in second year of a Bachelor of Nursing degree.
- A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission-based organisation
