- Remuneration: $32.30 - $33.37 per hour + superannuation + annual leave loading + salary packaging options
THE ROLE:
Calvary Mater Newcastle is seeking a dedicated Administration Officer to join our Haematology Day Ward. In this role, you will provide essential administrative support to the Day Treatment Centre team, working under the direction of the Nursing Unit Manager to ensure the smooth and efficient coordination of daily operations.
DUTIES:
- Perform a range of administrative functions relevant to the department.
- Assist the Clinical Coordinator in scheduling Haematology treatment appointments according to treatment plans, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Greet and assist staff, patients, and visitors in a friendly, professional, and respectful manner.
- Communicate important updates or issues to the Clinical Coordinator and Nursing Unit Manager (NUM).
- Provide administrative support to clinical staff as required.
- Manage incoming calls by answering promptly, diverting appropriately, and retrieving and actioning voicemails.
- Carry out routine administrative duties as required and outlined by the department.

ABOUT YOU:
- Demonstrated health and administration and Customer Service skills, including frontline/reception duties with demonstrated communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- Demonstrated experience and a high level of computer literacy in a windows environment and related health administration systems.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise and process a high volume work load, whilst maintaining strict confidentiality.
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated commitment to customer service and quality improvement.
- Working knowledge of medical terminology.
