Hospital Assistant – St Luke's & St Vincent’s Hospital, Launceston

About the role

Provide support and assistance to all personnel within the organisation in meeting the needs of internal and external customers under the direct supervision of the nursing staff.

Your main duties will include:

  • Provide support and assistance to all personnel within the organisation in meeting the needs of internal and external customers under the direct supervision of the nursing staff.
  • Assisting patients to theatre and appointments within the Hospital, aiding nurses with patient care.
  • Aiding nurses with patient care where appropriate.
  • Complete housekeeping tasks

About you:

  • Time management and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
  • Ability to build relationships with all stakeholders
  • Has undertaken or willing to undertake Certificate in Basic Life Support
  • Demonstrated experience working in a team environment
  • Has undertaken or is willing to undertake Manual Handling training
  • Holds a current First Aid certificate

Desirable:

  • Previous experience in a similar role
  • Demonstrated keyboard skills, knowledge of PC based systems and data entry ability
  • Tasmanian working with vulnerable people registration
