About the role

The Director of Nursing and Quality forms part of the Calvary Health Care Kogarah (CHCK) Senior Leadership Team and is pivotal in the delivery of safe, quality and compassionate care. The Director of Nursing and Quality will utilise their expertise to strengthen the nursing profession, leading the development of talent and the implementation, evaluation and research of contemporary and innovative models of care, to support the delivery of world class healthcare in a fiscally efficient and change resilient environment. 

The position acts as an advocate for patients/staff and promotes involvement in care delivery. The position will also be responsible for overseeing all aspects of quality and risk, including the implementation of the National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards (NSQHSS) and will hold operational responsibility for Executive Sponsorship and implementation of Emergency Management procedures.

 
About you
  • Consistent demonstration of personal integrity and commitment to work within the Mission and Values of Calvary Health Care Kogarah.
  • Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse and appropriate tertiary qualifications.
  • Demonstrated experience working within a health organisation at a senior leadership level managing a range of complex nursing portfolios.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in budgetary and fiscal management within a constrained environment and knowledge of healthcare funding models, industrial and policy environments. ability to interpret analytical reports to drive performance including experience in budgetary and financial management.
  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of government regulations/policies, nursing reform agendas, nursing research, transformational proactive development and leading change.
  • Demonstrated strategic leadership in the development of innovative models of care, translation of research into delivery of care and ongoing evaluation of service delivery.
  • Ability to lead, foster and actively influence a restorative, just learning culture and build effective interprofessional relationships to ensure safe care.
  • Highly developed communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work within a collaborative framework.
