About the role
 
The CSSD technician is responsible for the processing and the reprocessing of Reusable Medial Devices (RMD) for use in Operating Theatres and Day Surgery Unit (Offsite) and other relevant areas where RMDs are utilised.  This position is a casual position that will support permanent staff and assist in the functioning of the CSSD 
 
Your main duties will include:
  • Decontamination, cleaning, packing, disinfection and sterilisation of all reusable medical and surgical equipment.
  • Document and report results of all processes as per policies and procedures.
  • Operate, clean and maintain equipment and environment by following set policies and procedures and manufacturer’s instructions.
  • Distribute decontaminated or sterile products to patient care areas.
  • Cleaning and reprocessing of endoscopes
About you
  • Demonstrated understanding of WHS and infection control principles and how these pertain to the sterilisation service
  • Demonstrated ability to work as part of a team, operating independently within role
  • Sound attention to detail to ensure accuracy to meet required standard of the Sterilising Department
  • Availability and capacity to participate in a 5-day rotating roster including on call, weekends and public holidays
  • Certificate III in sterilisation (or working towards)
  • Effective communication & interpersonal skills
