About the role
Calvary Bruce Private Hospital is one of Canberra’s leading private healthcare providers featuring eight state-of-the-art digitally integrated theatres and we are looking for a full time Theatre Nurse Unit Manager to join our experienced staff and continue to provide great leadership and inspiration to a great team providing outstanding care.
As the Perioperative Nurse Unit Manager, you will be a key leader within the Perioperative Departments. You will provide optimal leadership and management, assuming responsibility and accountability for the standard of clinical care delivered and the operational performance of the Theatres. You will be influential in creating a professional environment and fostering a respectful culture where interdisciplinary team members are able to collaborate effectively to positively impact patient outcomes and professional growth.
Your main duties will include
- Exercise advanced clinical judgement, critical thinking and ethical decision-making processes in the delivery and coordination of perioperative nursing care
- Strategic planning and workforce analysis recognising and aiding staff development and satisfaction
- Management of multiple surgical specialties, procedures, instrumentation and equipment used
About you
- Registered as a Registered nurse (Division 1) with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated managerial experience and clinical leadership skills in Perioperative Nursing.
- Strategic planning and workforce analysis and development capabilities
- Well-developed knowledge of ACORN Standards, HICMR, AS5369 and National Safety and Quality Health Service Standards.
- Demonstrated excellence in interpersonal skills including effective negotiation and conflict resolution.
