About you

The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care of clinical trials patients in a patient-focused environment. This 12 month, 0.5 FTE role may be extended depending on growth and will be primarily with oncology clinical trials patients at Calvary North Adelaide and Calvary Central Districts Hospitals. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Practice in accordance with the ICH GCP Guidelines, the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia's Standards for Practice and NHMRC Research Guidelines;
  • Apply critical thinking and research knowledge to nursing practice, clinical care, and management of research participants including to recognise, report and act on changes to clinical condition of trial patients;
  • Plan and implement nursing care for Clinical Trials participants, applying evidence-based clinical skills and validated and standardised research processes;
  • Work in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team
  • Have thorough knowledge of each Clinical Trial protocol including procedures and documentation to ensure the safe and accurate conduct and recording of the study.

What you bring 

  • Experience in planning nursing care for clinical research participants, applying evidence-based clinical skills and validated and standardised research processes; and delivering safe, appropriate, responsive, and cohesive care to clinical research participants
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Skilled at medication administration, venepuncture and cannulation, conducting ECGs and blood collection.
  • AHPRA Registration
  • Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
  • Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
  • Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
  • A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation
