About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced CSSD Supervisor to lead our Central Sterilising Services Department. This pivotal role is based across 2 Calvary Hospitals, St Lukes & St Vincent’s. The post holder will oversee the day-to-day operations of CSSD, ensuring the delivery of high-quality sterilisation services that support our clinical teams and align with Calvary’s mission and values.
As a CSSD Supervisor, you will:
- Lead and coordinate daily CSSD operations, including scheduling workloads and resolving operational issues.
 - Maintain high standards of sterilisation and infection control practices.
 - Monitor and manage the electronic tracking system for instrument processing.
 - Liaise with internal teams and external contractors to ensure timely repairs and service delivery.
 - Mentor and support CSSD staff through induction, training, and supervision.
 - Participate in audits and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
 - Uphold Calvary’s values of hospitality, healing, stewardship, and respect in all aspects of your work.
 
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Certificate IV in Health – Sterilising Practice for Technicians or equivalent.
 - A minimum of 4 years’ experience in a CSSD environment.
 - Strong knowledge of AS5369 standards and sterilisation practices.
 - Proven leadership experience and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.
 - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
 - High-level planning, organisational, and analytical abilities.
 - A commitment to professional development and continuous improvement.
 - Comprehensive computer skills
 - A customer-focused mindset and dedication to Calvary’s mission.
 
Desirable:
- Membership with SRACA (Sterilising and Research Advisory Council of Australia).
 - Familiarity with HICMR and SRACA standards.
 - Experience in delivering customer service within a healthcare setting.
