About you
The Registered Nurse is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate client care in a client-focussed environment. This is a permanent full-time position with the capacity to work extra shifts. The Registered Nurse provides clinical supervision and support to the 10 bed ambulatory withdrawal unit and 22 bed residential rehabilitation program. The Registered Nurse works on a rotating roster basis alongside a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities
- To reduce alcohol and other drug related harms by providing evidence-based drug and alcohol services to people accessing Calvary Drug and Alcohol Centre.
- Provide comprehensive and individualised biopsychosocial assessments, realistic and supportive treatment/support plans and discharge planning to clients
- Identify, respond and escalate, if required, significant risk factors or deterioration in client’s condition and develop and implement an appropriate management plan
- Provide evidence informed ambulatory withdrawal support to clients in the centre
- Work within a multidisciplinary team to meet the needs of the clients
What you bring
- Knowledge and application of alcohol and other drugs theoretical frameworks, national guidelines and evidence based therapeutic interventions.
- AHPRA Registration
- Demonstrated recent clinical experience in an acute care and/or hospital setting
- Ability to work unsupervised, proficiently and in an organised manner during periods of high demand and activity
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
- Demonstrated communication, interpersonal skills and customer service skills
