The Procurement Governance and Excellence Lead is responsible for developing and maintaining the operational infrastructure that underpins Calvary’s Procurement and Supply Chain function. This includes ownership of governance frameworks, policy and compliance, capability development, systems and data management, and enterprise reporting, ensuring consistent and high-quality procurement practices across all sites and categories.
This is a senior individual contributor role that enables effective and compliant procurement delivery across the organisation. Working closely with the Head of Procurement and Facilities, the role acts as a key custodian of standards, driving continuous improvement in ways of working, strengthening commercial capability, and enhancing the overall maturity of the procurement function.
- Own procurement governance frameworks (policy, delegation, probity, S2P standards) and ensure ongoing compliance and fit-for-purpose controls.
- Monitor compliance and audit outcomes, leading remediation actions and continuous improvement of governance and risk controls.
- Design and deliver procurement capability development, including training, onboarding, tools, and frameworks to build organisational procurement maturity.
- Lead continuous improvement of procurement ways of working by embedding best practice and addressing capability gaps.
- Own procurement systems and data governance, including Source-to-Pay processes, reporting, and spend analytics to enable visibility and control.
- Drive procurement technology and process optimisation, including automation, supplier data integrity, and system enhancements.
- Support execution of procurement and supply chain strategy, driving operational excellence and maturity uplift across the function.
- Build cross-functional partnerships and lead change adoption while monitoring external trends to inform improved procurement practices and outcomes.
Essential
- Minimum 7 years' experience in procurement, with demonstrated exposure to governance, policy, process improvement, and/or procurement systems in a large or complex organisation.
- Strong understanding of procurement governance frameworks, probity requirements, and Source-to-Pay process design.
- Demonstrated experience developing and maintaining procurement policies, delegation frameworks, and compliance programs.
- Proven analytical capability with experience building procurement reporting, spend analytics, and benefits tracking methodologies.
- Experience designing and delivering procurement capability programs, training, or tools for professional and non-professional audiences.
- Strong communication and influencing skills, with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the organisation including executive stakeholders.
- High level of systems literacy, including P2P platforms, ERP environments, and data reporting tools.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Commerce, Supply Chain, Finance, or a related discipline.
Desirable
- MCIPS or equivalent professional procurement qualification.
- Experience in healthcare, aged care, or a regulated NFP environment.
- Familiarity with P2P reform programs including invoice automation, catalogue management, and AP workflow improvement.
- Postgraduate qualification in Business, Commerce, or a related field.
