Clinical Care Manager – Calvary The Mariner

Progress with purpose at one of Australia's largest health care providers

  • Get ahead with salary packaging, benefits and professional development in a supportive team environment.
  • Shape a newly created leadership role and make a lasting impact on resident care, clinical excellence and the future of aged care.

About the role

This is not your typical Clinical Care Manager role.

An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Clinical Care Manager to join Calvary The Mariner in the beautiful coastal community of South West Rocks, NSW.

Reporting directly to the Home Manager, you will be entrusted with leading the home's clinical services, ensuring excellence in clinical governance while inspiring and supporting the wider clinical team to deliver exceptional person-centred care. You will directly manage and support two experienced Clinical Care Coordinators, fostering a culture of accountability, collaboration, continuous improvement and clinical excellence across the home.

At Calvary, our commitment is simple: You Matter. We Care.

Inspired by the mission of the Sisters of the Little Company of Mary, we are committed to providing compassionate, person-centred care that honours the dignity, individuality and life experiences of every resident.

These aren't just words—they reflect the culture we're building and the standard of care we strive to deliver every day.

We're looking for a leader who genuinely believes great care begins by understanding what matters most to each resident.

For us, person-centred care means asking "What matters to this resident?" rather than "What's the matter with this resident?" It means listening to each person's goals, understanding what gives their life meaning and working together to make those goals a reality.

We believe clinical excellence isn't measured only by compliance—it's measured by the moments that matter. Helping a resident regain independence, reconnect with family, return to a favourite hobby or achieve a personal goal is just as important as delivering safe, high-quality clinical care.

We're looking for a compassionate clinical leader who sees possibilities where others see limitations. Someone who asks "How can we make this happen?" rather than "Why can't we?" You'll have the courage to respectfully challenge "the way we've always done it", replacing routine with curiosity and ensuring every decision begins with one simple question:

"What matters to this resident?"

You'll inspire, coach and support your Clinical Care Coordinators and the wider clinical team to move beyond task-based care, creating a culture where people always come first, critical thinking is encouraged and every resident is empowered to live with dignity, choice and purpose.

As Clinical Care Manager, you will lead clinical governance across the home and be accountable for ensuring compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards. In collaboration with the Home Manager, you'll drive continuous quality improvement, strengthen clinical capability and foster a culture where quality, safety and person-centred care are embedded into everyday practice.

You understand that quality isn't something we prepare for during an audit—it's reflected in every interaction, every care plan, every clinical decision and every conversation with a resident and their family.

If you're looking for more than your next management role—if you're looking for the opportunity to inspire people, influence culture and make a lasting difference in the lives of older Australians—we'd love to hear from you.

Your main duties will include:

  • Lead clinical governance, quality improvement and ensure compliance with the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards.
  • Provide leadership, support and clinical oversight to the wider clinical team while directly managing two experienced Clinical Care Coordinators.
  • Coach, mentor and inspire the wider clinical team to deliver exceptional person-centred care, building a culture of curiosity, critical thinking and continuous improvement.

About you

  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in residential aged care.
  • Proven experience leading clinical governance, quality improvement and regulatory compliance.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the Strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards and the ability to embed them into everyday practice.
  • Proven ability to lead, coach and inspire clinical leaders and multidisciplinary teams to deliver exceptional person-centred care.
