Expression of Interest - Contract Social Worker Services
The successful applicant would be engaged on an ad hoc basis as required and as available. They will work as a sub-contractor and advisor to the organisation.
Calvary Launceston Hospitals
Calvary Launceston Hospitals are seeking Expressions of Interest from suitably qualified and experienced Social Workers to provide contracted specialist Social Work services on a referral basis for inpatients. The role supports patients across both Calvary St Vincent's Hospital and Calvary St Luke's Hospital in Launceston.
About the Service
The contracted Social Worker will provide specialist services including:
- Complex psychosocial assessment and intervention
- Guardianship and administration applications
- Tribunal-related matters (including TASCAT)
- Safeguarding and risk management activities
- Elder abuse and vulnerable persons assessments
- High-risk discharge planning
- Complex family and social dynamics management
- Liaison with government and non-government agencies
- Community placement coordination and advocacy
- Participation in multidisciplinary case conferences as required
Referrals will be provided on an as-needed basis and there is no requirement for a permanent onsite presence.
Essential Requirements
Applicants must:
- Hold qualifications in Social Work recognised by the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW)
- Maintain current AASW membership/registration
- Demonstrate experience managing complex hospital-based social work presentations
- Have experience in guardianship, safeguarding, risk assessment and complex discharge planning
- Hold a current National Police Check
- Hold a valid Working With Vulnerable People registration (or equivalent)
- Hold and maintain Professional Indemnity Insurance with coverage of at least $20 million
- Hold Public Liability Insurance
- Hold an Australian Business Number (ABN)
- Be registered for GST purposes (if applicable)
- Be able to provide evidence of all relevant insurances and credentials upon request
- Be eligible to provide services within a private hospital environment consistent with Calvary credentialing requirements

Contract Arrangement
The successful applicant will be engaged as an independent contractor under a Clinical Services Agreement. Services will be provided on a referral basis and invoiced monthly.
