About the role

Join Calvary Central Districts Hospital, a leading private hospital in Adelaide’s northern suburbs, and play a pivotal role in shaping the future of perioperative nursing practice.  This part-time opportunity (0.8 FTE, negotiable) offers the chance to combine your clinical expertise with your passion for education, mentoring and workforce development. 

As the Perioperative Clinical Educator (RN Level 3), you will lead education and training programs across the Perioperative Suite, supporting nurses, graduate nurses and theatre support staff to deliver safe, evidence-based patient care.  Working closely with the Perioperative Services Manager and Clinical Manager Theatre, you'll influence clinical excellence, drive quality improvement initiatives, coordinate critical training programs including ALS and PALS, and help develop the next generation of perioperative clinicians.

Your main duties will include:

  • Leading and delivering perioperative education, training programs and clinical competency assessments to support best-practice patient care. 

  • Mentoring, coaching and supporting nurses, graduate nurses and theatre support staff to enhance clinical capability and professional development. 

  • Driving quality improvement initiatives, coordinating mandatory training (including ALS and PALS), and implementing evidence-based practice across the Perioperative Suite. 

About you
  • Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse/Midwife. 
  • Bachelor of Nursing or higher qualification. 
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or willingness to complete). 
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) and Paediatric Life Support (PALS) instructor qualification, or willingness to obtain. 
  • Demonstrated perioperative nursing and clinical education/facilitation experience.
  • Excellent communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage the nurses.
