About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to progress your career in Community Housing with Baptcare Affordable Housing (BAH) - a small, innovative, and growing Community Housing Organisation.
The Housing Coordinator plays a pivotal leadership role within a highly supportive team - leading a group of experienced housing workers, overseeing further growth in BAH’s portfolio and striving for best practice in our housing services. The Housing Coordinator will help shape continual improvement in BAH’s operations by reviewing and improving on systems and processes, as well as ensuring team members receive a high standard of support and guidance.
About You
You are passionate about growing your career in the Community Housing sector. You are a true business partner that instils trust in your stakeholders by demonstrating integrity and accountability.
Working as part of a close-knit team, you collaborate with and support others, demonstrating respect in your day-to-day actions.
You will ideally bring the following:
- Tertiary qualification in a relevant field.
- Extensive experience in community or public housing tenancy management.
- Experience managing a team.
- A demonstrated commitment to social justice and to the empowerment of disadvantaged members of the community.
Key Selection Criteria
- Demonstrated and extensive experience in the community and/or public housing sectors, including in a management or team leader capacity.
- Strong knowledge of the Residential Tenancies Act and other applicable legislation and regulations applicable to community housing.
- Extensive experience in preparing and presenting cases at Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal (VCAT).
- Experience managing a team and cultivating a positive, productive and supportive culture.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to communicate effectively and negotiate with a range of stakeholders.
- Strong IT literacy, including proficiency in Microsoft Office and tenancy/property management software.
- Demonstrated skills in time management, prioritisation, planning, and organisation to efficiently handle multiple responsibilities.
- Strong numeracy and financial acumen.
