THE ROLE
As a Nurse Unit Manager at BaptistCare Amberlea, you will play a key role in ensuring residents receive safe, high-quality, person-centred care. You will provide clinical leadership, support your team and ensure care delivery meets the Aged Care Quality Standards and BaptistCare policies and procedures.
Key responsibilities include:
- Lead and support care staff to deliver high-quality care that respects each resident’s individual needs, preferences and dignity.
- Ensure clinical practices align with current best practice guidelines and aged care standards.
- Provide guidance, coaching and support to staff to ensure they have the skills, equipment and knowledge required to provide safe care.
- Ensure accurate, timely and compliant clinical documentation is maintained.
- Monitor resident health outcomes and coordinate appropriate clinical reviews and interventions.
- Support continuous improvement activities, audits, risk management and quality initiatives.
- Build positive relationships with residents, families, GPs, allied health professionals and external stakeholders.
- Support staff education, development and ongoing professional growth.
- Ensure funding assessments and required documentation are completed within required timeframes.
ABOUT YOU
You are an experienced Registered Nurse who enjoys leading others and making a meaningful difference in aged care. You combine strong clinical knowledge with compassion, professionalism and the ability to inspire a team.
You will bring:
- Current AHPRA registration as a Registered Nurse (Division 1) with no conditions or undertakings.
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in clinical aged care management or a similar leadership role.
- Strong understanding of the Aged Care Quality Standards and contemporary clinical practices.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, motivate and support a multidisciplinary care team.
- Excellent communication skills with residents, families, staff, GPs and allied health professionals.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
- Commitment to delivering respectful, person-centred care that enhances residents’ dignity, comfort and quality of life.
- Ability to work co-operatively as a member of the Residential Services Management Team to achieve goals
- National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
- Proof of working rights in Australia.
