Maintenance Officer
Job no: 496368
Work type: Casual
Location: Various locations
Categories: Residential Aged Care
Casual | Wyndham Lodge, Werribee VIC | $43.75 per hour (inclusive of casual loading)
Looking for variety, flexible hours and a role where every day looks a little different?
At Wyndham Lodge in Werribee, your work directly shapes the comfort, safety and dignity of the people who call this community home. This isn't a job where you're just fixing things and moving on. You'll get to know the residents, understand the site, and take genuine pride in keeping it running smoothly, while also lending your skills across our other Residential Aged Care sites in Melbourne's Western Suburbs when needed.
If you're after casual, flexible work with real variety, and a role where your work is genuinely valued, this could be the opportunity you've been waiting for.
WHAT MAKES THIS ROLE DIFFERENT
- Casual flexibility:
- Variety across sites: Work primarily at Wyndham Lodge, with the requirement to support other Residential Aged Care sites across Melbourne's Western Suburbs from time to time.
- Broaden your experience: Build relationships and skills across multiple communities, not just one.
- Backed by a values-led organisation that invests in doing maintenance properly, not just reactively.
THE ROLE
As Maintenance Officer, you'll take ownership of the preventative and reactive maintenance that keeps our Residential Aged Care communities safe, functional and welcoming, primarily at Wyndham Lodge and, as required, across our sites in Melbourne's Western Suburbs.
- Complete preventative and reactive maintenance works in a timely, well-documented manner
- Manage and maintain Essential Services Maintenance (ESM) systems and requirements onsite
- Coordinate and follow up contractor work, ensuring it's completed to a high standard and fair market rate
- Liaise professionally with residents, families, staff and contractors day to day
- Keep accurate records and report on works performed in line with policy and compliance standards
- Look after tools, equipment and site safety, reporting hazards and defects as they arise
- Travel and work flexibly across our Western Suburbs sites as rostered, supporting maintenance coverage where it's needed most
This is your opportunity to build broad experience across multiple sites while making a visible difference to the people who live there.
ABOUT YOU
You don't need retirement living or aged care experience to succeed here. Just the right hands-on skills, the right attitude, and the flexibility to work across more than one site.
- Trade certificate or equivalent, or at least 5 years' experience in a similar maintenance role
- Experience in building construction and maintenance
- Demonstrated experience managing or coordinating contractors
- Comfortable using MS Office and basic workplace systems
- A current driver's licence and your own reliable vehicle, with willingness to travel across our Western Suburbs sites as required
- Full working rights in Australia and a satisfactory National Crime Check (or willingness to obtain)
- Construction Induction (White/Red) Card and Test & Tag certification highly regarded
