About the Role

This isn’t a typical retail supervisor role. As an Assistant Retail Manager, you will support the Retail Manager in leading the Retail Operations team, playing a key role in delivering sales performance, team capability and customer experience in a fast-paced, high-volume environment. You will be a hands-on leader, stepping in to lead the floor, coach the team and drive results day-to-day, while building the capability to step into broader leadership roles over time. Reporting to the Retail Manager, you will:

  • Support the leadership of a large front-end team in a high-volume environment
  • Drive sales through strong floor execution, merchandising and stock flow
  • Take ownership of key areas of daily trading and team performance
  • Step into leadership of the store in the absence of the Retail or Store Manager
  • Coach and develop team members to lift service, productivity and standards
  • Contribute to a high-performing, fast-paced and accountable team culture

What Your Day Might Look Like

No two days are the same, and you’ll spend most of your time on the floor leading your team. You might:

  • Lead shifts and manage team performance across the sales floor
  • Support daily trading decisions to optimise sales and customer experience
  • Coach team members in real time to lift performance and engagement
  • Manage stock flow and ensure the shop floor is fully set and ready for trade
  • Support onboarding and development of new team members
  • Work closely with your Retail Manager to plan and execute priorities

About You

You’re a hands-on leader ready to take the next step into a broader leadership role.

You’ll bring:

  • Experience leading or supervising teams in retail, hospitality, logistics or similar
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay organised under pressure
  • A collaborative leadership style with the confidence to step up and lead when needed
  • Strong coaching skills and a genuine focus on developing others
  • A practical, flexible approach and willingness to be on the floor with your team
