St Gerard Majella School is a co-educational Catholic primary school in the Cairns southern suburb of Woree. With a healthy enrolment of around 400 students from Prep to Year Six, the school has always been a highly regarded and well sought-after Catholic primary school.

About the Role
The Teacher will plan and prepare effective, high-quality learning and teaching practices that are consistent with the National Standards, Diocesan, and school-based learning area plans and policies. They will create a nurturing, engaging, and stimulating learning environment that is is inclusive and responsive to the diverse learning needs of students.
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to fostering the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of young learners. They will work collaboratively with colleagues, parents, and the wider school community to support students wellbeing and achievement and participate actively in professional learning and school improvement initiatives.
The Teacher will be required to deliver engaging and purposeful learning experiences aligned with the Australian curriculum, use assessment and data-informed practices to monitor student progress and inform teaching, differentiate instruction to support students of varying abilities and learning needs and foster a safe, respectful and positive classroom culture.
Work Requirements
- Be registered or eligible to be registered with Queensland College of Teachers
