Our Aelia Duty Free store, provides our customers with a range of Duty Free products and we are looking for people that have a genuine interest in helping customers shop for all their travel needs!


The role:

Seeking Part Time Retail Assistant at Christchurch Airport to cover our busy seasonal period from October 2024 - April 2025

As a Retail Assistant you will deliver an outstanding customer service experience through your product knowledge and ability to provide recommendations and services to our customers. To execute your goals, you will receive regular, professional training so you will always be up to date on the latest products and trends! You will also:

  • Complete customer transactions in a professional and timely manner
  • Respond to customer queries and complaints in a polite and courteous manner
  • Ensure floor presentation meets or exceeds brand requirements
  • Maintain stock and merchandise presentation consistently and in accordance with Company standards


We have two morning shifts available in which we need to cover:

Shift 1: Friday to Tuesday 4am - 10:30am
Shift 2: Wednesday to Sunday 4am - 10:30am


We also have three graveyard shifts available:
Shift 1: 
Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday 8pm - 1:30am (Tues and Sun OFF)
Shift 2: Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Sunday 8pm - 1:30am & Tuesday 10:30pm - 2:30am (Thursday & Saturday OFF)
Shift 3: Monday, Wednesday, Saturday 8pm - 1:30am & Tuesday and Thursday 10:30pm - 2:30am (Friday & Sunday OFF)

To be successful, you will need:

  • Strong work ethic and a passion for delivering a great customer experience to achieve sales targets.
  • Clear and confident communication skills and an ability to think on your feet and promote your brand.
  • Impeccable grooming and personal presentation.
  • Previous experience working in the retail industry is highly desirable, but not essential.
  • Valid working rights as well as the ability to obtain and maintain an Aviation Security Identification Card
  • Mandarin, Cantonese, Japanese or Korean speaking skills preferred
