The Role:

We are looking for a commercially minded Commercial Analyst to join our growing Commercial team and help drive smarter pricing, ranging and trading decisions across our retail business.

This is a hands-on analytical role that sits at the heart of how we make money. You will work closely with our Pricing, Buying and Category teams, providing insight that improves sales, margin and customer outcomes.

What you’ll be doing

✅ Analyse category, product and store performance to identify opportunities to improve sales and margin
✅ Provide insight to support pricing, ranging, promotions and supplier decisions
✅ Support evaluation of the commercial viability of new products, promotions and range changes
✅ Analyse customer and basket data to drive higher transaction value, penetration and frequency
✅ Monitor competitor and market pricing trends
✅ Analyse margin, volume and price movements to support trading decisions
✅ Produce regular trading and performance reports for key stakeholders
✅ Help build and maintain dashboards tracking KPIs such as margin, price index and promotional ROI
✅ Support forecasting, budgeting and seasonal planning processes

What we’re looking for:
🎓 A degree in Business, Economics, Finance, or a related field
📊 1–3 years’ experience in a commercial, pricing or trading analyst role (retail or FMCG experience highly regarded)
📈 Solid Excel and analytical skills, with experience working with large data sets
📉 Experience with BI tools such as Power BI
💻 Comfortable working with retail systems such as EPOS, ERP or merchandising tools
💡 Commercially curious and motivated by how businesses make money
📊 Confident turning data into clear insights and recommendations
📋 Detail-oriented, organised and able to manage multiple priorities
🤝 Comfortable working with stakeholders across buying, pricing and category teams
