The Role:
Reporting to the CEO and sitting on the Executive Leadership Team, the CHRO ANZ holds enterprise-wide accountability for building, modernising, and leading the HR function across Australia and New Zealand. You will drive a phased transformation roadmap including HRIS implementation, an expanded HRBP structure, a new ER & Compliance function, and the future addition of a Compensation & Benefits capability, while leading a current team of 9 across all major HR disciplines.
What You’ll Do:
✅ Develop and execute an ANZ people strategy aligned to commercial priorities and Lagardère Group frameworks
✅ Sponsor and lead HRIS implementation; establish data-driven HR operations and board-ready reporting
✅ Lead organisational design, workforce planning, and succession pipeline development
✅ Provide executive oversight of complex ER matters; ensure full AU/NZ legislative and award compliance
✅ Oversee WHS obligations and psychosocial risk management
✅ Partner with Lagardère Travel Retail Global HR (Paris) on Group-wide people initiatives
✅ Lead, develop, and inspire a team of 9 across specialist HR functions
Qualifications & Experience:
✅ 5+ years of senior HR leadership; at least 3 years at executive level
✅ Multi-site, customer-facing industry background such as retail, travel, hospitality, or similar
✅ Proven HRIS implementation or HR transformation experience
✅ Deep ER and employment law knowledge across Australia and/or New Zealand
✅ Commercially astute with strong executive presence and influencing capability
✅ Data-literate; able to drive evidence-based decisions and executive reporting
✅ Tertiary qualifications in HR or Business (required); CAHRI or post-graduate qualifications (advantageous)
