About the role

As an Operations Manager for our Northern Region at the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR), you’ll oversee the delivery of compliance monitoring and enforcement operations across a dynamic and expanding jurisdiction. You’ll play a key role in shaping the safety and performance of Australia’s heavy vehicle industry by leading a regional team, building strong cross-sector partnerships, and providing strategic input that influences national transport regulation.

This is a rare opportunity to bring together leadership, operational insight, and regulatory impact in a role that directly contributes to safer roads and a more efficient transport network. This position can be based in Townsville, Brisbane, Ipswich, Toowoomba, Rockhampton, Mackay or Cairns.

Key responsibilities of this role are:

  • Lead and deliver operational compliance and enforcement programs across jurisdictions
  • Build key partnerships with government agencies and industry
  • Provide expert guidance to senior executives and the NHVR Board
  • Drive innovation, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
  • Lead, mentor and support a regional team to achieve real outcomes
