Job Summary

This role will provide administrative support to Gateway’s Advancement and Marketing department and will involve a variety of administrative tasks, including managing communications, organizing events, and assisting with marketing initiatives.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, and possesses excellent organizational and communication skills.

Job Duties:

  • Perform general administrative duties such as answering phones, managing emails, scheduling meetings, and maintaining department files.
  • Assist in planning and executing department events, including coordination, invitations, and follow-up communications.
  • Support marketing campaigns by coordinating materials, tracking progress, and assisting with social media management.
  • Maintain and update databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of information.
  • Schedule and distribute internal and external communications, including newsletters, announcements, and promotional materials.
  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders, addressing inquiries and resolving issues promptly.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate’s degree or equivalent.
  • 1 – 3 years of relevant experience
  • Experience in an administrative role, preferably within a marketing or advancement department.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to address and resolve issues promptly and efficiently.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Commitment to diversity.
  • High attention to detail, independent, self-motivated, adaptable to fast-paced environments.
  • Professional and courteous communication at all levels, both internally and externally.
  • Clear verbal and written skills.
  • Efficiently prioritize and meet deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word). 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in and understanding with students from diverse populations.
  • Experience working at the community college level.
