Salary Range: $4500.00 per month

Contract Term Length: 10 Months

Job Summary

Effectively teach Emergency Medical Technician courses.

Job Duties:

• Effectively teach Emergency Medical Technician courses.
• Responsible for program effectiveness, including student learning outcomes, continuous review, assessment, and development.
• Create and actively engage all areas of the Emergency Medical Technician sector’s academic initiatives to include any credential audits and apprenticeship relationships within the community.
• Provide for and be actively involved in on-going evaluations, development, and enhancement of Emergency Medical Technician offerings.
• Develop strategic plan for improving the Emergency Medical Technician program to include scheduling, recruitment efforts to draw students into the Emergency Medical Technician program offerings, advising, and advisory board effectiveness.
• Maintain community relations within the service area, and oversee an active advisory council for the Emergency Medical Technician Program.
• Participate in academic and student enhancement activities, including student advising.
• Maintain and improve, through professional development, competence in discipline knowledge and instructional techniques.
• Participate in internal and external service activities (college committees, system committees, community relations).
• Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in any of the qualifying fields (Emergency Medical Technician, Paramedic, Nursing), or an associate’s degree and demonstrated competencies in the teaching discipline. AEMT Educator from the Kentucky Board of Emergency Medical Services required.
• Demonstrated commitment to quality instruction, student learning, and instructional and institutional effectiveness.
• Demonstrated effective technology skills, communication skills (written and verbal), and organizational and human relations skills.
• Demonstrated commitment to the comprehensive community college concept and team management.
• Demonstrated commitment to the KCTCS/Hopkinsville Community College strategic plan.
