Job Summary

Somerset Community College is accepting applications for a Human and Social Services Instructor / Program Coordinator position.

Job Duties:

• Primary responsibilities include teaching and administrative oversight of Human and Social Services Program; develop and design curriculum, participate in evaluation of student achievement, oversee program administration, complete academic advising, and provide instruction to students in theory and practice in human and social services program courses and serve as program coordinator of the Human and Social Services educational program;

• Supervise students in laboratory and clinical settings, with some travel to clinic sites as needed and demonstrate the ability to teach effectively at the appropriate level.

• Demonstrate adequate knowledge and proficiency in assigned content areas of expertise;

• Participate in development and review of program policies and procedures;

• Develop community partnerships with parties of interest to the human and social services program;

• Serve on program committees and participate in assessment of program outcomes;

• Serve on KCTCS system-wide and statewide committees;

• Other duties include academic advising, internal and external service, professional
development and leadership.


• Perform other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Master’s Degree in Human Services, Social Work, Psychology, Counseling, or related field with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in discipline.

• Required (or strong preference) for professional experience

•Ability to work effectively on a team with strong communications/relationship building skills required.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

•Master’s Degree in Social Work with current unrestricted certification/licensure to work as a social worker in Kentucky

• Three years of related work experience

• College-level classroom, laboratory or clinical teaching experience
