Job Summary

The Coordinator of the Ready-to-Work (RTW) program is a grant funded position that is responsible for providing services to support the education and training for Kentucky Transitional Assistance Program (KTAP) recipients who are engaged in an educational activity with KCTCS or Adult Education which will lead to employment and self-sufficiency. Services provided include, but are not limited to, recruitment, intake, assessment, educational advising, advocacy, mentoring, employment skills training and work-study placements. The coordinator will work with KCTCS pre-college, current and post-KCTCS RTW participants.

Job Duties:

Identify and recruit eligible participants for the Ready-to-Work program and retains the minimum level of students throughout the project year

Provide intake and assessment services in order to develop a plan of action to meet student needs.

Provides case management services such as identification of student needs and referral to appropriate helping services.

Deliver and/or facilitate life skills and career soft skills instruction through workshops and/or one on one counseling.

Develop work experience and work-study placements, both on and off campus.

Development or expansion of education and employ-ability plan and provide Employment skills training.

Provide advocacy, mentoring and coaching to support retention and completion strategies.

Facilitation and support of the transition from Adult Education to post-secondary education.

Facilitate students receiving feedback from their work-study site supervisor and collect students’ feedback on their placements.

Ensure that all required employment documents are completed and processed accurately and in a timely manner including background checks and time-sheet approvals.

Support Financial Empowerment skills to help students to be more informed and aware of their financial situation and choices through workshops and/or one on one counseling. Assist with FAFSA completion and/or refer to the Financial Aid Office.

Promote marketing efforts to inform internal and external stakeholders about the Ready to Work program.

Collaborate with the Cabinet, DCBS staff and other community partners to support RTW program and activities.

Work collaboratively with other RTW Coordinators and other programs for disadvantaged students.

Provide program data and semester reports as requested.

Monitor annual budget for the Ready to Work program to ensure that expenditures are allowable and support the goals of the project.

Participate with the president and other college leadership in planning and assessing overall college operations and initiatives.

Support accountability and institutional effectiveness by developing, implementing, and assessing effective procedures that support college operations and foster student success.

Serve on college committees as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Human Services, Social Work, Counseling or related field) or equivalent and two years of related experience.

 

Preferred Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree (Human Services, Social Work, Counseling or related field) or equivalent and four years of experience in Social Services, Case Management, or working with students including disadvantaged or underrepresented populations.
