Title: Adult Education Reading Instructor - Part Time

Salary Range: $21.50/ Bachelor’s Degree; $23.50/ Master’s Degree

Job Summary

This position will teach Reading at the Boone campus with ability to teach at the Covington campus and at the Erlanger library as needed. Current hours are Monday-Thursday 2:00 pm - 8:00 pm with some flexibility only on Monday and Wednesday times; days and times are subject to change with notice.

Job Duties:

  • Prepare lessons for instruction
  • Teach reading to Adult Education students
  • Assists students with completing enrollment paperwork and TABE testing.
  • Complete training required by Kentucky Adult Education and Gateway.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in related field of education and 2 years experience
  • Candidate must have exceptional reading skills and be able to pass the Test of Adult Basic Education with a score of 12.9
  • Ability to work with learners at varying levels of competence
  • Must be able to work independently.
  • Detail-oriented, self-motivated, ability to work independently and adapt seamlessly to fast-paced, dynamic environments.
  • Skilled in engaging and supporting students from different cultural and socioeconomic backgrounds.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities effectively and meet tight deadlines.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Word).
  • Must be available to travel to the Erlanger Public Library or Covington as needed to teach.


     

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree or equivalent
  • Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
