Job Summary
Gateway is currently seeking an adjunct instructor to teach HIS 240, History of Kentucky for the Fall 2025 semester. The class will meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9:30-10:45AM at the Boone campus in Florence, KY. This is a 16-week course that runs from 8/18/25-12/14/25.
Job Duties:
Provide instruction and familiarize students within the specific areas of study.
Provide instruction to students in both theory and practice in their respective field(s).
Maintenance and care of classrooms, labs & training materials will also be expected.
Keep abreast of changes in their field and help keep the programs updated.
Technical positions provide students with the background, knowledge, and basic skills needed to function effectively on the job.
Preferred candidates would be able to teach at various levels to help support their programs. Candidates should be energetic, enthusiastic, and have an in-depth understanding of the principles in their discipline or field.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree and at least 18 graduate hours in History from a regionally accredited institution.

Excellent interpersonal skills; ability to communicate with many individuals at all levels throughout the internal college environment and external business and community partners, representing himself/herself professionally and courteously.

Ability to multi-task, work under deadlines, and prioritize projects to meet deadlines with high levels of efficiency and accuracy.
Must have proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office (Excel, Forms, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, and Word).
Preferred Qualifications:
Completion of graduate-level coursework in the History of Kentucky is strongly preferred.
Experience in and understanding of working with students from diverse populations is preferred.
Experience working at the community college level is preferred.
