Job Summary

The Library Coordinator- Resources will be responsible for access to library circulating collections, including non-book collections such as the loaner laptop program. Coordinates and oversees activities related to the promotion of all available library resources. Will play an essential role in identifying and meeting student needs through ongoing evaluation of existing and potential library services.

As part of the Library team provides general reference and library services (both in-person and virtually) to a vibrant campus community while contributing to a welcoming, patient, and enriching experience for library users.

Position reports to the Director of Libraries and directly supervises 1-2 student assistants.

Job Duties:

  • Manage all aspects of the circulation of library materials, including billing, student account management, library financial holds, and borrower outreach campaigns

  • Make access to library resources as smooth as possible for all parties

  • Evaluate, report on, and optimize circulation services.

  • Provide oversight of and serve as a resource to front-line operations staff, both part-time student staff and full-time staff, as it relates to the core function of the position.

  • Configure, and generally maintain functionality of the Library ILS, Alma-Ex Libris, as it relates to resource access.

  • Promote what is currently available through the library and identify areas for growth. Develop new circulating collections in support of student success and retention, as needed.

  • Develop, coordinate, and oversee library service initiatives and projects, including student assistant projects, in alignment with college and library goals.

  • Provide oversight of and serve as a resource to front-line operations staff, both part-time student staff and full-time staff, as it relates to the core function of the position.

  • Provide general reference and library services, in-person and virtually.

  • Interpret library policies and procedures to provide excellent service while ensuring fair and equitable use of library resources.

  • Participate in the development of workflow and policy decisions.

  • General office operations as needed: Compile and report data, troubleshoot equipment problems and seek resolutions, maintain inventory related to function area, maintain appropriate library records.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree and two years of relevant experience or Equivalent

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and four years of relevant experience or Equivalent

  • Experience with ExLibris (Alma/Primo) in an academic setting.

  • Excellent organizational, problem-solving, and communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated experience in the marketing of library resources

  • Desire to create an exciting, accessible, future-oriented library

Additional Skills Requested:

  • Knowledge of library systems as it relates to the circulation of materials. Working knowledge of bibliographic description and cataloging.
  • Strong customer service focus and skills.
