Job Summary

This is a full-time, ten-month contract faculty appointment for the Business and Technology Division within the Computer & Information Technologies program at Jefferson Community and Technical College (JCTC). The position requires flexibility of scheduling which will include both on-campus and online classes and is intended to teach a variety of CIT subjects such as networking, programming, and business software support.

Job Duties:

Other duties include but not limited to:
The CIT Instructor will be responsible for preparing course materials such as the course syllabi, homework assignments, and examinations
Other duties include but are not limited to:
• Use Blackboard Ultra for communication and feedback.
• Prepares and delivers learning activities to achieve course outcomes.
• Evaluate and grade students’ class work, papers, and examinations with feedback as needed.
• Maintain and submit students’ attendance records, grades, and other requested documentation by specified deadlines.
• Maintain required office hours for mentoring and coaching students, success and retention activities.
• Meet as needed with supervisors, division, or college, relative to teaching duties and training and development.
• Engage in academic advising.
• Participate in course and curriculum development.
• Participate in internal and external community service.
• Participate in educational leadership and professional development.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or related or an Associates degree in Computer Science, Information Technology,
or related and demonstrated competency in the discipline, such as certifications, work experience, etc.  

Preferred Qualifications:

Relevant professional experience is preferred. Experience in computer programming, networking, or Security is a plus.

Physical Requirements:
Occasional and /or light lifting – limited exposure to disagreeable environmental elements (heat, cold, dirt, chemicals, etc.)
