Job Summary

Jefferson Community and Technical College is seeking a candidate for a Security Officer position in our exciting fast-paced Campus Safety and Security Department located on the Downtown Campus. The position is for 2nd shift (2:00 pm – 10:00 pm).

Job Duties:

Candidates will be responsible for providing ongoing visual inspection by foot, bike, and/or vehicle patrols, completing incident, accident, and injury reports as needed and providing other security services in order to maintain a safe, secure campus environment for students, staff, faculty and visitors.
Other duties include, but are not limited to:
• Assists with campus crisis situations, with building evacuations, drills, etc. as needed and monitors parking
facilities, insuring only authorized vehicles parked in restricted areas; issues citations as needed.
• Perform additional duties as assigned by supervisors.

Minimum Qualifications:

High School/GED and one year of Security or related work experience (other Security, Corrections, Police, Fire, EMS, or Military). 

Candidates must have a valid a driver’s license.

Preferred Qualifications:

Strong written and verbal skills are necessary. Basic knowledge
of Microsoft Office and Window applications is preferred.  Candidates should also have experience and sensitivity working with colleagues and students.
