Job Duties: The TRIO Student Support Services (SSS) Program Specialist provides direct, comprehensive support to eligible low-income, first-generation, and students with disabilities to promote academic success, retention, graduation, and transfer to four-year institutions. This position delivers individualized advising, academic coaching, and financial literacy guidance while coordinating workshops, cultural enrichment activities, and leadership development opportunities. The Program Specialist maintains accurate documentation in compliance with U.S. Department of Education regulations and contributes to meeting Annual Performance Report (APR) objectives and funded-to-serve targets. Through proactive outreach and case management, the role ensures students receive timely interventions that remove barriers and support persistence toward degree completion. |

Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in counseling, Student Affairs, Education, Social Science, or related field; strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent organizational skills; proficiency with common computer applications, including Word, Access, PowerPoint, and Excel. The successful candidate will have experience handling confidential information and possess a strong work ethic and problem-solving skills. Must be detail-oriented with an ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and the ability to work independently or as a member of a team. This position requires a high level of professionalism and initiative, as well as the ability to meet deadlines, work under pressure, and adjust to changing priorities. |
