Job Summary

ECTC is seeking an English & Developmental Studies Instructor with the ability and desire to teach first year composition for college-ready and under-prepared students. This position will instruct the equivalent of 15 credit hours per semester and be responsible for student guidance-advising activities, internal and institutional service, external and community service, professional development activities, and educational leadership. Assignments may include some evening, weekend, and/or off-campus courses. Candidates must possess a strong commitment to teaching, working with a diverse population, and serving the community and technical college mission.
The assignment period is full-time 10 month (August-May) position.

Minimum Qualifications:

Position Requirements:
1. Master’s degree in English or Master’s with a minimum of 18 graduate hours in English.
2. Ability to teach in a professional, enthusiastic, and organized manner across multiple modalities in order to reach as many students as possible.
3. Ability to augment teaching strategies for college-ready and underprepared students to reach diverse populations with diverse educational needs.
4. Ability to work effectively on a team.
5. Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills.
6. Proficient computer skills.
7. Experience with instructional technology, such as Blackboard or similar learning management system preferred.
