Job Summary
The Workforce Solutions Subject Matter Expert serves as a part-time instructor responsible for delivering high-quality workforce training in their area of professional expertise. Instructors provide engaging, industry-relevant instruction for open enrollment, customized business and industry training, and other Workforce Solutions initiatives. Subject Matter Experts are employed on a strictly part-time, as-needed basis and are scheduled based on training demand. Responsibilities include preparing and delivering course content, maintaining a safe and productive learning environment, evaluating participant progress as appropriate, and representing Workforce Solutions with professionalism while ensuring training aligns with industry standards and employer needs.
Job Duties:
* Prepare for each training session by reviewing course materials, organizing instructional resources, and ensuring all equipment and supplies are ready for delivery. * Deliver high-quality, engaging instruction that aligns with Workforce Solutions curriculum, industry standards, and employer expectations. * Maintain a positive, professional or training environment that promotes respect, safety, participation, and learning. * Evaluate participant performance and provide timely, constructive feedback to support skill development and successful completion of training objectives. * Demonstrate and reinforce safe work practices and ensure compliance with all applicable college, regulatory, and industry safety standards. * Monitor attendance, participant progress, and course completion requirements while maintaining accurate records as required. * Communicate effectively with Workforce Solutions staff regarding course needs, participant concerns, scheduling, and training outcomes. * Maintain current industry knowledge, certifications, and technical expertise necessary to provide relevant and high-quality instruction. * Represent Workforce Solutions and the college in a professional manner while fostering positive relationships with students, employers, and community partners. * Perform other instructional duties and related responsibilities as assigned to support Workforce Solutions training initiatives.
Minimum Qualifications:
Minimum Qualifications
High school diploma or GED required.
Demonstrated expertise in the assigned instructional area through a combination of relevant education, training, professional certifications, licensure, and/or work experience.
Minimum of two years of progressively responsible experience in the subject matter area to be taught or an equivalent combination of education, training, certifications, and experience that demonstrates the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to perform the essential functions of the position.
Ability to effectively communicate technical and instructional information to learners.
Ability to establish and maintain a positive and professional learning environment.
Ability to prepare instructional materials, utilize appropriate instructional technology, and evaluate participant learning.
Ability to work independently, exercise sound judgment, and adapt to varying instructional schedules and training environments.
Possess and maintain any licenses, certifications, or credentials required by law, regulation, accrediting body, or Workforce Solutions for the assigned instructional area.
Successfully complete all required college onboarding, background screening, and compliance requirements prior to assignment.
